While I agree that that makes sense from my understanding of how data interconnects, I want to make sure there isn’t any serious security consideration I’m missing. @jason, any idea why researchers can’t edit sighting metadata?
Group Behavior and “Estimated total individuals participating” are editable if you have admin or silo security permissions that unlock the Sighting for you. Other fields are not currently editable due to no past demand for it, or for example “Number marked individuals participating” is a calculated field based on the number of MarkedIndividuals that participated in the Sighting via identified Encounters.
I will make a note of this discrepancy in the documentation so it’s at least clear that this is expected behavior. That being said, this is functioning as intended for the time being.
