What would you like to see?
In the past, we used to be able to see the photo’s metadata when we clicked on the photo (it appeared in the caption of the photo). The same applied if we downloaded the photo. However, now the photo creation date is appearing as the date of download, or if we are looking at the photo in our browser we only see the user-submitted date.
How would this functionality help you?
The ability to see the original metadata (or at least as it appeared at upload) better allows for validation. In the below screenshot I can only see the user-submitted date on this photo, which is August. However, I know that this dive site is closed for six months of the year, and no one is diving there in August (it’s also very out of season for mantas). If I could see the metadata I would be able to check if this is an upload error more easily. In this case, I’ll be emailing the submitter to double-check the information provided.
