Allow bulk imports to be opened in a new tab

What Wildbook should this feature be in?
African Carnivore Wildbook

What would you like to see?
The ability to open bulk imports in a new tab from the “my bulk imports” page (via right click menu or Ctrl+click). Not sure if this is just an issue in Chrome or across all browsers.

How would this functionality help you?
This would make it much quicker and easier to navigate through multiple bulk imports.

Hi @CharlotteSearle

You should already be able to open your bulk import in a new tab from this page. Right click menu won’t work, but Ctrl/Cmd+Click will.

I’m able to Cmd+Click on Mac (Ctrl + Click on PC) to open the bulk import in a new tab in Brave, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.

If your mouse has a scroll wheel, the wheel itself is a clickable button. Clicking on the import with the scroll wheel will also open it in a new tab (this option doesn’t appear to work in Firefox).

Thanks @Anastasia. I’m on a Windows laptop but for whatever reason Ctrl+Click has never worked for me to open individual bulk imports in the “my bulk imports” page. It works with other links on ACW (including the header menu links on the my bulk imports page) and on other websites just fine, and I use it regularly, so this is a bit of a mystery! I have the same problem in Chrome and Edge. Not sure why it is but given it sounds like just a me problem I will have to make do

Hmm. Let’s try a little experiment:

  • On laptops with a two-button trackpad, the scroll wheel click I mentioned above is achieved by pressing both buttons at the same time. This could be a workaround in place of Ctrl+click
  • Press your touchpad with three fingers at once. This is an alternate way some laptops register the middle-click/scroll wheel click.

Thanks for the suggestions but neither of those things work on my laptop. As I said, I can open other links on ACW (and indeed any other website) just fine with Ctrl+Click; this problem only seems to affect the table of bulk imports. But as I said, it’s not the end of the world so I’ll just work around it. Thanks!

That’s so frustrating; I’m sorry none of the alternate workarounds have helped.
