What would you like to see? Allow the ‘unknown’ species option to be selected.

How would this functionality help you? Sometimes a cetacean cannot even be identified down to dolphin vs baleen whale vs beaked whale etc., especially for decomposed animals. Additionally, reports may be submitted by people who don’t know anything about cetaceans and need a researcher to identify the species.

Hey @hannahh ,
This is a solid point. We have to make a couple of adjustments for this to happen, but I think it’s a good idea, particularly since we have several algorithms intended to parse out what species is in the image.
We’ll be doing this work as part of WB-1487.
