Citizen upload issues

In which Wildbook did the issue occur? SAS USA

What operating system were you using? (eg. MacOS 10.15.3) Firefox

What web browser were you using? (eg. Chrome 79) Ipad

What is your role on the site? (admin, researcher, etc) admin (but I was posing as a citizen)

What happened? i uploaded an encounter (that worked fine), but the link i got in the message directed me to a page that required a username and password. This should not happen. Also, I (neither as the admin or the citizen) did not get an email notification of the upload.

https://ncaquariums.wildbook.org/encounters/encounter.jsp?number=e21e4670-b97f-4e63-abe8-6f6b9eab135c

What did you expect to happen? the citizen gets an email with a link that goes to their encounter on the public SASUSA webpage. no user name and password are required. i (admin) get an email message that a picture as uploaded.

What are some steps we could take to reproduce the issue? try uploading a dummy photo

If this is a bulk import report, send the spreadsheet to services@wildme.org with the email subject line matching your bug report

Hi, @Carol !

I was definitely able to reproduce the first issue (the one where a non-logged-in user can’t visit the encounter). I created a ticket to fix this (very likely a default security configuration that snuck in via an update): WB-1870.

I could have sworn that I already created a ticket for the it’s-not-emailing-Carol issue, but I can’t seem to find it. Under the assumption that you didn’t get an email about the encounter that I just created, I’ve created a separate ticket for this separate issue: WB-1871.

Thanks for reporting these, and I’ll get back to you when they’re done!

Hi, @Carol !
Both WB-1871 and WB-1870 fixes should be deployed to ncaquariums. Can I confirm that things are working as expected now?
Thanks,
Mark
