Clicking 'Use individual for un-named matches below' returns "Error updating encounter"

What Wildbook are you working in?
Flukebook

What is the entire URL out of the browser, exactly where the error occurred?
https://www.flukebook.org/iaResults.jsp?taskId=6d7d61df-35f1-4e61-b7d0-e7ce7f25aede&projectIdPrefix=BRDRight-%23%23%23%23

Can you describe what the issue is you’re experiencing?
My student and I were attempting to do matching, from the list of encounters obtained by clicking on the relevant project (Balearic Risso’s Photo ID right side) - we click on ‘Match results’ and then ‘view’, and have no problem ‘confirming no match’ for new individuals but after that when we try and match them by clicking ‘Use individual for un-named matches below’ we get a message replacing that button saying ‘Error updating encounter’ and no changes are reflected in the project encounter list.

Can you provide steps on how to reproduce what you’re experiencing?
Click on ‘My projects’ > select ‘Balearic Risso’s PhotoID Right side’ > select unmatched encounter and click ‘Match results’ > click ‘view’ > confirm no match for new individual > wait for screen to reload > locate matching unnamed encounters and select check box(es) > click ‘Use individual for un-named matches below’ → get ‘Error updating encounter’

This happens whether we use my or my student’s account.

Hi @ler4

I’m sorry about the delay. I need more time to dig into this. Can you also let me know which student account also experienced this?

Hi no problem I see that it is pretty busy on here! The student account username is engarcia

Thanks for looking into this!

Thanks for your patience; this ticket has been resolved. You should now be able to confirm IDs in your projects again.

H many thanks I tried this right away but I regret to say that we are still experiencing this issue - for example, with this encounter: https://www.flukebook.org/encounters/encounter.jsp?number=d82d2765-b396-44df-9cd3-17a7bfd96afb

We find a match with an existing individual:

But again receive the ‘Error updating encounter’ when we click ‘Set individual to…’ to try and confirm the match:

I saw there was a fix on the ticket, has it definitely been applied? Does it take some time to come online, or do we need to do something like clearing cache on our end to refresh or something? I am sorry this is being such a pain!!

I’m sorry about that. I’ll let you know when I hear back from my teammates. It’s possible that I was too hasty and that the fix is in place but not yet deployed.

It looks like it hasn’t deployed yet. I should have an update on this by tomorrow. :crossed_fingers:

Hi there - I wonder if there has been any update I’ve missed about the deployment of this fix?

I checked in with the devs today and they’re working on getting it in today for Flukebook.
