Which Wildbook should this feature be included in? Amphibian and Reptile Wildbook
What would you like to see added? Request a new location ID
How would this feature help you? I am exploring a new area in Hagen, Germany, and have discovered fire salamanders (Salamandra salamandra). I would like to add them to Wildbook (area: Auf der Halle).
If you are requesting a new location ID, please provide the following information:
Is this location nested within another location’s hierarchy? Germany
Is there a prefix for region-based naming? (optional) Auf der Halle
GPS coordinates in decimal format (optional) Encounter.decimalLatitude: 51.36429 Encounter.decimalLongitude: 7.4081
Thank you so much, Christina
Hi @Christina.Schnepper
The prefix refers to what you want to automatically appear for the ID of any individual seen in this new location and should ideally be short (2-4 characters). For example, if you want the prefix to be “AdH”, then a new individual ID for this location may look like “AdH-0001”. Let me know if you a) still want to use a prefix and b) what the new prefix should be.
I would like to use the prefix H. If that’s already taken, then please use adH.
Thank you very much and best regards, Christina
Dear Wildbook Team,
Please excuse me for contacting you again. The ID needs to be adjusted once more.
I wasn’t clear enough before: The area is located in “Hagen,” while the shelter point is “auf der Halle.” This means that “Hagen” should be listed first as the main point, followed by “auf der Halle.”
I would like to keep the ID “H,” however.
I apologize again for the inconvenience, but I would be very grateful if you could adjust this accordingly.
Thank you so much!
Christina
Hi @Christina.Schnepper
Thanks for letting me know. That’s what this question refers to:
So the location nesting should look like Germany > Hagen > Auf der Halle.
Is that correct?
Yes, that is correct. Thank you!
