Location ID hierarchy update for Scotian Shelf

What Wildbook should this feature be in? Flukebook

I am requesting the current location ID “Scotian Shelf” be under North Atlantic Ocean
and contain the following nested sites:

  • Gully MPA
  • Haldimand Canyon
  • Shortland Canyon

Also > “Davis Strait” and “Labrador Sea” should be under “Arctic Ocean”

Just noticing how it is a bit hard to tell from the pick list based on indent spacing what location is nested under what ocean as the location lists are getting longer every day! Is there a way to denote the hierarchy either with expandable lists by ocean or distinct bullets/number/letters?

Thanks!!

I agree that the locations in Flukebook are chaotic! Thanks for your efforts to make them a easier to find.

Are you using the newer encounter report an encounter page or the classic version? The new version lets you collapse or expand locations with sub-sites making it easier to see which is nested where.

New version

Classic version

I’ve added the new sub-sites to Scotian Shelf and moved Davis Strait and Labrador Sea under Arctic Ocean.

Wow so fast! Thank YOU!!

The new collapsable locations look great! I would love it if it looked that way when I go to edit an encounter location on an encounter page… currently it looks like the classic version - hence the struggle! Definitely better with the new hierarchy added :heart_hands:

Oh! That’s a good point. We’re actually working on redesigning the encounter page for an upcoming release, so I’ll share this feedback with the devs.

Just got confirmation that the nice visual nesting was already planned to be a part of the design update.
