What happened?
I have found now to cases, where encounters that should have set individual ID code (Phs-code) now for some reason don’t have it. These both have been from 2021 and have been identified already in old Norppagalleria, the one we used before moving to Seal Codex in 2022.
First case I fixed manually, since I thought is was some kind of human error and just one case. I think it was individual Phs479.
For example seal individual Phs480 had already 10 sightings in old Norppagalleria, in Wildbook there are only 2 : Seals Wildbook
This encounter is identified in old Norppagalleria, but not in Wildbook: Seals Wildbook
I have no idea how many cases like this there are. But it seems that the sightings or encounter pages are there as they should be, but identification is gone.
If there’s a discrepancy compared with Norppagalleria, there’s a possibility it occurred during the original switch to Codex and not during the latest move to Wildbook.
If you see another example, can you post it here so I can cross-check it with Codex?
Ok, so the problem seems to be from moving from Norppagalleria to Codex and most likely there aren’t very many cases, I never noticed this in Codex. Is there anything that could explain this? It could help me find other similar cases.
I will keep an eye for other cases and post those here if I find any!
I found one more. This is Phs366 and I fixed it already. It had ID in that encounter in old Norppagalleria
Was this encounter missing Phs-ID in Codex?
What I noticed was that both this Phs366 and Phs480 encounter/encounters had this “Vaihtoehtoinen tunnus” in old Norppagalleria. Could that have caused issues when migrating the data from old Norppagalleria to Codex?
This unfortunately looks like a migration issue from the original Wildbook to Codex. That script is no longer in use.
It sounds like the impact is limited and might be quickly fixed manually? Is there some data export from the original Norppagalleria that might speed up fixing this manually?
Maybe if could have encounter numbers for all known Phs -individuals from the original Norppagalleria and from the new Wildbook, I could compare those and if there are less encounters for some individuals now in Wildbook than there was in Norppagalleria, that would indicate this kind of problem. I don’t think I can export that kind of information from either? And if that is not possible, I might have to check each manually.
(Wildbook of course has now more known Phs -indiviuals than Norppagalleria, since new data hasn’t been put there)
