Sharkbook - Cannot add identity to shark

Hi

Bug in Sharkbook following latest updates. My role = Admin. Bug relates to adding an identity to a shark.

Today I added an image to sharkbook: Wildbook

MiewID appears to be broken. So I used the Spotmap technology. The results came through (which is now working again, thanks!) and it helped successfully match this shark with an existing shark with the ID GNS-1046.

The shark it matched to was this one: Wildbook

When I tried to add the identity to the new record, it didnt recognise that the ID existed and was prompting me to create a new ID. See below.

What I expected to see was GNS-1046 appear in the dropdown.

I am trying to add the ID GNS-2125 to this shark, but it doesn’t recognise it when you select from the dropdown.

Adding another example where I was unable to add the identity R2609 to this individual.
I noted that you linked this bug to issue 1318, but I noticed that that bug has been open since 2025, whereas this bug only appeared in the last week or so with the release of new wildbook release?

Thanks for your patience. The recent Sharkbook upgrade appears to have resolved this. I tested it with your latest encounter link for R2069 and it showed up as a suggestion in the Individual section.

It seems that only a few have been fixed. Not sure whats driving it as some are old identities and some are new, some are encounters added a while ago and others are new - not sure, but the issue does still seem to be happening. Here are some examples:

Wildbook - need to add the identify GNS-2620 to this one.

Latest fix will be part of the Wildbook 10.12 update
