At long last, we’ve made some updates to spot mapping that have resulted in performance improvements in Sharkbook!
You’ll see:
- 20-30x performance improvement in matching execution for Modified Groth
- 14% mAP improvement and top-1 5% improvement versus past whale shark-only efforts, outperforming deep learning and more modern spot mapping techniques significantly
Average times are post-optimization for speed.
- UI changes to redirect spot mapping scans directly to the match results page along with a status bar, removing the need to find results on the scanTaskAdmin page
