I uploaded a new shark photo and used MiewID to try to find a match. When reviewing the MiewID results, Match #40 was the same shark from a few years earlier. Match #40 was a shark that was also “unidentified”. I therefore used the option to “Create New Individual”. It then asked me to select an ID and I used GNS-2888.
What broke was that it made both individuals separate versions of GNS-2888 and I had to then merge them:
Might be difficult to reproduce, unless you load two new shark images and then run MiewID on them and try to recreate the steps?
What should have happened? I would have expected that GNS-2888 (the new ID) would have been created and both encounters (#40 in results and the new shark) would have linked to the same ID.
