What Wildbook are you working in?
African Carnivore Wildbook
What is the entire URL out of the browser, exactly where the error occurred?
Can you describe what the issue is you’re experiencing?
When I add a new social group, it automatically gives and end date, instead of keeping the end date open.
Can you provide steps on how to reproduce what you’re experiencing?
It looks like this:
It is linked to a post made earlier about automatically adding new social groups via the template.
What Wildbook should this feature be in?
African Carnivore Wildbook
What would you like to see?
Ability to add a second or third social unit via bulk import. At the moment, when you add a photo of an individual under social unit A, that social unit gets saved in ACW. When you do a next upload of that individual, which has changed pack so is now in social unit B, ACW still logs it as unit A (and doesn’t copy the data for social unit B). So, you basically loose very important information in tha…
Has any progress been made on this feature?
Kind regards,
Elke

Hi @evgils
Are you adding the social group manually from the individual page? If so, I suspect your browser is auto-filling in the date field because Wildbook doesn’t force a date in either of those fields. You may need to disable your browser’s auto-fill settings to prevent this.
I responded to your feature request post so the conversation about it doesn’t get split between threads.

Hi Anastasia,
Thank you for coming back to me.
My browser doesn’t autofill, since the field is empty when I save the social group. But when I refresh the page, the date suddenly appears.
Hereby screenshots:
Looks fine when saved:
But then when I refresh the page, the date shows up:
I tried in a different browser and the same happens.
I checked the autofill settings of my browser but couldn’t find anything.
Kind regards,
Elke
Thanks for the additional context! I’ll need to spend more time testing this and I’ll follow up as soon as I have an update.
Hi @evgils
I haven’t been able to replicate this in testing and verified that there haven’t been any recent updates to this part of the code.
We can try to catch it in action during a call to figure out next steps. I’ll send you an email shortly with my availability.
Thanks for sending me your video! Can you let me know which version of Chrome you’re using? You can find it in the Chrome > About Google Chrome menu.
Also let me know which OS you’re using so we dig in more.
Hi @evgils
My teammate was able to replicate this in testing. It looks like two bugs are contributing to the issue, so I’l l update this post with links to the tickets when they’re ready.

bug
platform support
**Expected behavior**
When removing a start or end date from a social group via … the Marked Individual page (`/individuals.jsp`), saving your changes removes the dates edited.
**Current behavior**
Changes to existing dates are saved (such as updating the month/day/year) but Wildbook does not allow users to save empty date fields.
