Hi Anastasia, I am trying to clean up historical, public submissions. I seem only be having this issue with Giraffa giraffa (both giraffa and angolensis). I try to update the taxonomy, it gives the green tick, but then I still cannot send to match and, when refreshed, the taxonomy has defaulted back to species level. I wonder if this has something to do with updated taxonomy space versus underscore we did a while back, as these are all old sightings from previous versions. Thank you

E.g. encounter, has location ID added, but missing subspecies notation

Update to correct taxonomy

Send to match, but not able to continue (assumed due to taxonomy)

Upon refresh, taxonomy has defaulted back

Update: I’ve just seen it happen to Giraffa camelopardalis camelopardalis so maybe it is most of the historical naming Wildbook for Giraffe

:smiling_face_with_tear:

That’s almost certainly what happened. We’re working on this now. Thank you for flagging it!

Ok, this is fixed now. I was able to save the corrected taxonomy on the encounter you linked.
