The ability to navigate through encounters of one Bulk Import

What Wildbook should this feature be in?

Internet of Turtles

What would you like to see?

I would like to see functionality that would allow me to scroll through the Encounters of a Bulk Import. This would be similar to how one might scroll through a series of photos (e.g. right and left arrows at the edges of the display) See attached image as a (very rough) draft.

How would this functionality help you?

When submitting a bulk import, once the import is through detection, we validate/add annotations to ensure the encounters are annotated accurately. When doing so, we enter the encounter and then have to go back to the list of encounters in the bulk import list to get to the next one. This is very time consuming. It’s not always clear which encounter we were working on previously; sometimes the row is highlighted, but once the mouse is moved on the page the highlight disappears.

If requesting a new location ID, include

  • Is this is nested beneath another location in the hierarchy?
  • Is there a prefix for region-based naming? (optional)
  • GPS coordinates in decimal format (optional)

Note: Not all feature requests can be accepted, but all of them are reviewed by our product team. We’re unable to provide implementation timelines for accepted requests. We are a small team with many competing priorities. Thanks for your understanding!

This is an idea we’ve discussed for the match page, but I think it makes sense for the bulk import page, too. I’ll revisit this when I know more about the design roadmap.
