For Sharkbook.ai, after speaking to a number of other shark scientists including Simon Pierce and Christine Dudgeon, we would like to request for a type of user access that is read only - so that we can get interns to review encounters without editing.
I believe this can be achieved by creating a new user but not giving them any roles. Let me do some testing and get back to you on this.
Thanks for your patience!
After testing for a bit, a user without roles can:
- submit encounters
- use the search feature
- access some data integrity tools
a user without roles can’t:
- send collaboration requests
- start a match
- view match results
- edit encounters they’ve uploaded (including deleting the encounter or adding a new photo to an existing encounter)
- export search results
- create projects
- view sightings (even ones they uploaded)
- submit or view bulk imports
- view Grid Administration
