Weird Annontation

In which Wildbook did the issue occur?

  • Amphibian and Reptile Wildbook - Bombina variegata

What operating system were you using? (eg. MacOS 10.15.3)

  • Windows 10

What web browser were you using? (eg. Chrome 79)

  • Chrome

What is your role on the site? (admin, researcher, etc)

  • Admin and researcher

What happened?

  • I noticed that with some individuals where the AI did not recognise them as “matchable”, some strange annotations were drawn.
When I deleted it and created a new annotation manually, the strange annotation came back after refreshing the page. It also seems to affect the accuracy of the matches.

What did you expect to happen?

  • I expected the newly created manual annotations to remain and the system to continue working with them. How can I improve this?

What are some steps we could take to reproduce the issue?

Please excuse me for coming up with that many problems.
Thank you! :frog:

Hi @MHederich

These look like detections on yellow-bellied toad data collected with a different technique (e.g., more hand captures) than I remember being included in the detector training set. The workaround here is to delete and manually redraw the annotation to ensure only the toad pixels are used for matching by HotSpotter.

Thanks,
Jason
