2 animals in one annotation - how to fix?

Hello!

As an example, I assumed the existing annotation (covering two cheetahs) was the “real” annotation, and I used the “add annotation” option to draw a bounding box around the upper cheetah. This spawned a new Encounter:

https://africancarnivore.wildbook.org/encounters/encounter.jsp?number=7f2cc817-0b73-49eb-96c3-9db23bad263b

(I added this manually to the Occurrence, something we can automate in the future).

and new matches:
https://africancarnivore.wildbook.org/iaResults.jsp?taskId=d08ee9a5-727b-4611-affb-8e949108b537

This does not fix the fact that the original annotation is too large, but it does create a workaround: just create a new Annotation and use that for ID. You can then delete the Encounter for the offending, too-large annotation to have it ignored for matching, leaving you with your new Annotations for matching (e.g., create a new one for the upper cheetah and a new one for the lower cheetah).

Hope this helps,
Jason

Makes sense. thanks Jason.
