Add to previously identified individual

What Wildbook are you working in? sharkbook

What is the entire URL out of the browser, exactly where the error occurred? Wildbook

Can you describe what the issue is you’re experiencing? The ‘add to previous identified individual’ box has disappeared making it difficult to find those individuals. Also can’t seem to delete an annotation. See on this shark, the system generated a very small annotation by the tail and I can’t get rid of it.

Can you provide steps on how to reproduce what you’re experiencing?

Which individual is this shark? Do you mean that you’re trying to add an existing ID to it, but it keeps suggesting to create it as a new ID instead? If so, this is fixed in 10.12, which hasn’t gone live yet: Can't assign existing ID to individuals · Issue #1318 · WildMeOrg/Wildbook · GitHub

The edit button is hidden beyond the boundaries of the visible image, which is causing this issue. I’ve added your example to the ticket.

The annotation bug is being tracked here: Annotation can't be deleted or edited because the edit/delete buttons are outside of the image · Issue #1534 · WildMeOrg/Wildbook · GitHub

I forgot to mention, as a workaround, you might be able to attach the ID to an existing individual if you use the visual matcher option. If the correct ID appears as a match, you can set the ID from that page.

Hi Anastasia,

I’m not fully trusting the process yet, so I haven’t given this shark an ID, although this shark appears to be new. When working sequentially in ID numbers I have no way to find the last shark number identified as the ‘Mark as a previous individual’ function has been removed (and it was very useful). Hopefully this can be added back and we won’t have to work around on all our IDs. Thank you!

I’m a little confused. “Mark as a previous individual” implies that an existing ID is being applied to an unidentified shark. You mentioned this is a new shark that needs a new ID.

If you’re trying to find the next available ID, you should still see it suggested when you edit the Identity field on the encounter. Here’s what that looks like in the old version of Wildbook vs the latest one. I’ve highlighted in red where the next suggested ID is visible:

Hi Anastasia,

This shark is unidentified; I haven’t marked it as a new shark or an existing animal (and the ID of the animal is irrelevant in what I am trying to show).

That function doesn’t seem to work, as you can see from the screenshot. It suggests AP-75, which makes no sense. We have multiple codes for different areas. The old system had an ‘add to previously identified animal’ that, when you started typing the ID, it would bring up the last identified animal; this has disappeared, making managing multiple sites difficult and time-consuming.

OK, thanks! My original understanding of it was correct. It’s supposed to be suggesting a list of your existing LSBB- IDs there as you type and it’s not. That’s the ticket I mentioned upthread. Sharkbook is currently on Wildbook 10.11 and the bug fix for not suggesting the correct names will be in 10.12:
