Bulk import upload order

What Wildbook are you working in?
Internet of turtles
What is the entire URL out of the browser, exactly where the error occurred?

  1. https://iot.wildbook.org/react/bulk-import-task?id=1a8c461e-902f-4e85-9f90-52cf612d115f

Can you describe what the issue is you’re experiencing?

Hi,

I’m using the new bulk import feature in Internet of Turtles. The new user interface looks great, but I encountered a minor issue. The order of encounters shown on the bulk import result page does not match the order in the spreadsheet I uploaded.

The order on the bulk import page is correct:

However, the order on the result page appears completely random. I tried sorting by encounter time, but it only sorts within each page, not across all results:

As a result, I have to manually check and sort each encounter against my datasheet.

Can you provide steps on how to reproduce what you’re experiencing?

If this is a bulk import report, send the spreadsheet to services@wildme.org with the email subject line matching your bug report

Hi @albarra

From your second screenshot, it looks like the encounters were sorted by date after you imported them:

Clicking on any of the column headers will sort your encounters according to that field. Refreshing this page should reset it to the default order from your spreadsheet.

Hi @Anastasia, Thank you for your response.

While clicking the date column header does sort the encounters by date, as I mentioned earlier, this sorting only applies within each page and not across all results. Unfortunately, there is no option to view all pages at once.

I also tried clicking on the encounter column header, but this does not sort the results back to the spreadsheet order either.

Could you please clarify which page I should refresh to reset to the default order? I’m having difficulty understanding this part.

I look forward to your guidance. Thanks!

Sorry for the confusion! I meant to refresh the page for the import task. For example, this appears to be the import referenced in your screenshots: https://iot.wildbook.org/react/bulk-import-task?id=2612db6a-48da-4918-8d8b-38e30f8697a4

If the display order seems weird, just refresh the page in your browser; it shouldn’t matter which page of that bulk import you’re on since the URL remains the same even if the page you’re viewing changes. That resets it to show the encounters in the original order they were uploaded.
