Confirm match btw ID'd target & un-Id'd encounter - error msg but refresh pg shows ID updated

What happened?
While reviewing ID’d hyaena pics I’ve been running matching for some to confirm. Where this pulls in previously unassigned encounters that are a match for that ID’d individual, I’m clicking the checkbox to assign the target ID to the unassigned match result and I’m getting an error message: “Error updating encounter. Please enter a different Individual ID.” However refreshing the page shows that the action was completed correctly - the assignment shows for that match result. See screenshots below:
