Difference in used and maximum number of photos for comparison

What Wildbook are you working in?
Whiskerbook

What is the entire URL out of the browser, exactly where the error occurred?

Can you describe what the issue is you’re experiencing?

Just question, I may have overlooked the information in the instructions.
Why in the solutions does the program compare in this case only 140 photos out of 772. Is it because it uses certain elements of the photo such as Location ID to narrow the search?

Thanks,
Stjepan

Hi, @Stjepan !
Great question! You are correct:

  1. If the location ID (or “study site”) was set during the submission, the pipeline will limit candidate matches to only that study site.

That information is kind of buried here.

Hi @MarkF,

Thank you for your fast response.
I think that I wasn’t precise.
So I marked all of my locations and maximum number is 772 photographs. Vast majority of these pictures are with same ID locations. That is why I am confused. I don’t’ understand what is than criteria to choose only 140 photos for comparison.

Thanks,
Stjepan

Hi, @Stjepan !

Things that might affect the match set:

  • The species indicated in the focal encounter have to match the match candidates
  • The viewpoint matters (right vs. left, for example)
  • Location
  • Data ownership (if you clicked, “my data”)

I’m noticing that your encounter (Whiskerbook | Login) doesn’t have a location ID associated with it. I’m curious what would happen if you added a locationId and re-ran matching.

Thanks,
Mark
