Duplicated Encounters in the Amphibian and Reptile Wildbook

I think we are currently encountering a bug in the Amphibian and Reptile Wildbook. I have recently uploaded some photos of fire salamanders. In the Bulk import everything looked fine. But apparently the Wildbook duplicated the encounters. The new individuals had two assigned encounters which are both the same, same annotation, same photo, same metadata. I checked whether there are multiple annotations in one photo, but that is not the case.

Do you have any idea what might be causing this and how to fix this?

It’s basically all individuals which are in the project Botanical Garden Bielefeld Adults 2025.

I started to delete the duplicate encounters for the first few animals.

These are the individual IDs of the animals for which the problem occurs:

Thanks for your patience while I looked into this. All of the individuals below have been imported twice by different users. I’ve noted the imports the encounter pairs came from and who uploaded them:

BGBI_24-4131 (this one we already matched with an individual from last year, the duplicated encounters are those for January 6th 2025) - These two encounters aren’t a result of a cloned annotation, but were uploaded separately as part of two different bulk imports from different users: Wildbook Import Sheet 12 was uploaded by Johanna Jan 30, 2025 and ARW_import_01_06 was uploaded by you May 12, 2025.

BGBI_25-0001 - These two encounters aren’t a result of a cloned annotation, but were uploaded separately as part of two different bulk imports: Wildbook Import Sheet 12 was uploaded by Johanna Jan 30, 2025 and ARW_import_01_06 was uploaded by you May 12, 2025.

Since the import they all have in common is Wildbook Import Sheet 12, my recommendation is to delete the duplicate imports from May by you and the BGBI student account.
