What happened?
Hi !!
Even if the box is checked in the account profile, the user never receives an email.
What did you expect to happen?
That an email is received in certain cases: creation of an encounter, validation of a match, etc.?
What are some steps we could take to reproduce the issue?
With a Whiskerbook account, which has the email alert enabled, create an encounter and validate a match: no email is received.
Hi @Lucas
Is there a specific user that’s not receiving emails from Whiskerbook? If so, can you send me their email address or username so I can look into it?
Hi @Anastasia
It’s not user specific. For example lucas_LVA_RLF (researcher & orgadmin : suivi.photo@gmail.com) but also for other accounts.
I verified that this is intentionally disabled for now while we work on updates to the email templates. Once that’s ready, users will see emails from Whiskerbook resume.
Thanks so much @Anastasia
Do you have a rough timeline so I can communicate it to the users, please ?
(knowing if we are speaking of days / weeks / months / year would be quite precise enough)
Hi @Anastasia - can we leave this ticket as open until the functionality is restored, please? thanks!
Maureen
Updated.
We don’t currently have a timeline for this. The best I can offer right now is to follow up on this post when I have more details.
Thanks @ACWadmin1 and @Anastasia
I will tell them “some day there will be email alerts”, it will do
Hi
I hope you’re doing well !
Would it be possible to reactivate email alerts please? I know they work in other Wildbooks, so maybe it should work on Whiskerbook ?
Is there anything we can do to help (e.g. provide a template)?
Thanks
Thanks for bumping this. I’m researching email notification changes to another Wildbook right now so I’ll work on both issues together.
We can re-use the ACW email templates for Whiskerbook and switch out the header. Does that work? I know Maureen and Paul are out of the office right now so I’ll wait for one of them to weigh in when they get back.
Hi Anastasia
Thanks for your help
Even a very simple template would be awesome, for example :
Thank you for reporting your sighting !
Your encounter link is : [http://…]
We will keep you informed of any changes to your submitted encounter and email you if any individual in your images is matched to another within this Wildbook database.
And :
Hello !
Just a quick e-mail to let you know that the encounter that you submitted has been identified.
Your encounter link is : [http://…]
Thanks again for your critical help !
As soon as the template gives the information to the submitter (encounter workflow state change, or individual identified), it’s good for us
Hi there, jumping in quickly to let you know that we don’t have a template ourselves. This was done by Wild Me’s Colin way back when ACW was being set up.
