What is the entire URL out of the browser, exactly where the error occurred?
The messager is not letting me include the URL links
Can you describe what the issue is you’re experiencing?
I have done some bulk imports of potato cod and have created a project to manage sightings of fish photogrpahed between 2012 and 2020. Fish were previously identified in an offline database using I3S manta software.
I am trying to run matches - both from the encounters and from within the project itself - but am not able to. From encounters, I have only one encounter that is even letting me run a match but it then gives me an error message saying there is nothing to match it against:
The rest of the encounters, when I click on the annotation of the image it tells me “cannot start match”
All the sightings loaded in the bulk import have passed detection and are status “Identification”.
I am sending my spreadsheets to the email provided below as well although I’m not sure if this is a bulk import problem or a matching software problem.
Can you provide steps on how to reproduce what you’re experiencing?
If this is a bulk import report, send the spreadsheet to services@wildme.org with the email subject line matching your bug report
I know our documents say to enter the Location ID exactly as it appears in Wildbook, but GrouperSpotter is an exception (and I’ll update our documents soon to reflect that). For GrouperSpotter bulk imports, all you need to enter is the REEF code number (such as “IORS55030031” for Snappers College). There currently isn’t a way to update location IDs across multiple encounters at once, so you’ll want to update the location ID in your spreadsheets, delete your imports, and then upload the updated spreadsheets.
That aside, I do think something happened during detection because when I tested one of your encounter photos and deleted the automatic annotation and manually drew a new one, I started a match from it and was able to see results (with the corrected location ID).
Let us know if you still run into issues with detection and matching after updating your spreadsheets.
I have reloaded the updated data sheets, just waiting for the last one to process identification then will see how things are with detection and matching.
One point in the meantime, however - the AI annotation during batch upload has returned a couple of annotations for goliath grouper instead of potato grouper as per this example - I’ve added spaces as it won;t accept a link in the message Wildbook) (for this one I already added a manual annotation with updated class - I haven’t deleted the goliath grouper annotation so you can see it for yourself). I’m curious as to why it would do this, given the data is included in the data sheet. I also thought at first it might be a very dark individual, but it has a very clear potato grouper pattern.
I’m sorry about the link issue. I’ve updated the forum settings to be less restrictive about link posting so you should be able to post them again.
Thank you for the example! We’ve updated some configuration settings and are re-indexing matching so that you should see the correct IA class and match candidates for your uploads. I’ll check in again when that’s complete.
Indexing is complete and matching should be working correctly now.
Our devs accidentally deleted a left-side annotation on this encounter because it appeared as a duplicate annotation from this encounter. There was one encounter but two lefts and two rights drawn.
I may be wrong but I think I drew manual annotations on that encounter, hence why there were two annotations for each side - I’m still figuring out the functionalities of the platform so apologies if I am complicating things… Fingers crossed all the issues are now resolved - I’ve got a busy couple of weeks but will try to find a moment to go through the bulk import logs and check, then I will let you know if I encounter any further issues.
No worries! I just wanted to give you a heads up in case you needed to add it back. If you ever want additional tools to check for any data issues, go to the Administer > Data Integrity menu in GrouperSpotter.
