Not all photos sending to IA

What Wildbook are you working in? Zebra

What is the entire URL out of the browser, exactly where the error occurred? Wildbook for Zebras | Login

Can you describe what the issue is you’re experiencing? I uploaded a set of photos and sent them to identification, but after a waiting a day then deleting the import, trying again, and waiting another couple days, some of the photos still have not sent to IA so I cannot run matches on these.

Can you provide steps on how to reproduce what you’re experiencing? Bulk import photos and spreadsheet, then attempt to send to identification. (sometimes 100% sends, but in this case half the photos never sent)

If this is a bulk import report, send the spreadsheet to services@wildme.org with the email subject line matching your bug report

Hi, @ahsi !
I see what you mean. There are definitely some weird results on that bulk import. We are investigating and will hopefully follow up soon!
Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Hello.

The issue with only the first column was a caching issue which should be resolved. I was able to extract your import excel file and run a test through the system, and all columns were found.

The second issue is due to species not being defined for all rows. In the affected rows, genus was set but we require a species in order to target an image analysis model. Since this was not set the images were unable to proceed to the detection and identification steps. There is not an available generalized detection model for zebra.

Rows with genus and species columns set received annotations as expected:

Hope this helps, thanks for your patience on a reply.

Hi, thank you for letting me know–I’m able to fully upload my spreadsheets again. I was wondering if there are any updates on the issue where not all photos send to IA?

Hi @ahsi,

Yes, this is actually the second part of my above message. The images that do not send to IA are missing the species column in the excel spreadsheet.

Species and genus must both be set in order for the images to proceed to the image analysis process.

Thanks!

Hi,

That helps a lot! Unfortunately it seems the problem with caching/only 1 column being uploaded has returned. Is it possible I’m doing something wrong or is there any quick way to fix this (I have a deadline coming up very soon)?

I’m going to restart the server which should flush the cache. To be double sure, please try again in a private/incognito browser window to bypass your web browser’s cache also. The restart should take only a couple minutes but the application will be unavailable during that time.

There is a possibility of a formatting issue in your excel file, if the restart does not fix the issue I can look into it.

Thanks, I tried again with other excel files and in a private browser window but there’s still only one column showing up on the upload page. I’ve been going through with the uploads anyways because when I go to the individual encounters all of the metadata is there even though the corresponding columns don’t show up.

Hi Ahsi,

Glad to hear the metadata is present. I can see it being parsed in the server logs as well, it’s a bug in the feedback. It did show up again for me on a server restart with the file 7-6-21.2-group-Spreadsheet.xlsx.

We’ll continue working at this. There is an issue ticket WB-1746 where we are tracking the bug.

Thanks for your patience.

Hi, @ahsi and @colin !
I believe that WB-1746 has been resolved.

Or at least, I have been unable to reproduce the first-column issue:

Is this working for you now, too, @ahsi ?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi, @ahsi !
I’m just following up on this; has this issue been resolved for you?
Many thanks,
Mark
