Photographer not receiving email

If this is a bulk import report, send the spreadsheet to services@wildme.org with the email subject line matching your bug report

In which Wildbook did the issue occur? African Carnivore Wildbook

What operating system were you using? (eg. MacOS 10.15.3) Windows

What web browser were you using? (eg. Chrome 79) Chrome

What is your role on the site? (admin, researcher, etc) OrgAdmin, researcher

What happened? I wanted to test if adding my personal email address in the photographer’s email address field to see if I would receive a notification saying that the individual was identified. I did not receive anything.

What did you expect to happen? I would like to add photographer’s email address under “Encounter.photographer0.emailAddress” in the bulk import sheet so the photographers receive confirmation about matches and I don’t have to inform them one at a time.

What are some steps we could take to reproduce the issue? Add an email address to the photographer’s field, make a match and see if you receive an email or not.

Thank you.

Hi @Marine_Ingwe

Do you mind messaging me the email address you tested this with? I can cross-check in our outgoing messages to verify whether the email was created or blocked by the email provider.

I used my personal one: marine.servonnat@gmail.com

Thanks! I wasn’t able to replicate this. When I tested it, I got an email to the test email address when an individual was identified. I also didn’t find any outgoing notification emails to your personal email address, though I did see the outgoing emails to me in our dashboard for my encounter test.

Can you send me the link to the encounter you tested this with? Whether an encounter was manually reported or bulk imported shouldn’t impact this, but I want to look into this more to figure out what happened.
