Problem with Match Results_Zebra Wildbook

Hi Anastasia;
I note this zebra is already in the database, yet, the search is not returning positive result. I have no ID of what is in the system, though I am sure it is in the system. I still continue to record new individuals even after following the procedure you shared, i.e, selecting the entire list of locations in Kenya and even executing another search for both algorithms

Hi @Timothy

Without knowing the ID that it should belong to, I can only speculate as to why you’re not seeing it as a match. I suggest two additional steps:

You can increase the number of match candidates shown by changing the Num Results field to a bigger number. The default is 12; I don’t believe there is an upper limit. I’ve seen people adjust this to as high as 150 to find positive matches in other Wildbooks:

Sometimes doing this can reveal a positive match that for one reason or another wasn’t higher in the ranking.

The other step is to toggle from Individual Scores (which is the default) to Image Scores. Individual match scores are based on the aggregate score of each image of that individual. Image Score computes the match core for every annotation in the database when compared to the query annotation. The results may be similar, but this method can also reveal potential matches the default view didn’t display.

If that doesn’t help, you can try restarting the match to look at all location IDs in the Wildbook. Let me know when this encounter gets identified; I’m curious to understand why its match has been so elusive.
