What Wildbook are you working in? Flukebook
What is the entire URL out of the browser, exactly where the error occurred?
Flukebook
Can you describe what the issue is you’re experiencing?
I’m trying to clean incorrect automatic detection/annotations on individuals in our catalogue to see if that will improve the matching process. Especially since in some cases the image is pointing towards a feature on the body that is not the dorsal fin and the automatic annotation is not capturing that well or at all. However, when I select ‘remove annotation’ and confirm, these annotations never go away. Even if I refresh the page. I still can manually add a new annotation but to keep things clean and avoid many incorrect annotations being used in the identification process, it would be good if these were actually removed. Perhaps they are removed from the database but just not in the pictures, where the green box still exists?
I’m working on Microsoft Edge browser on Windows 11.
Thank you!
Hi @gveneruso
It’s possible that there’s a caching issue involved as I don’t see any unusually placed annotations in the link you provided. Performing a hard refresh in your browser may help.
On Windows, hold down Ctrl and then press F5 on your keyboard. On Mac, hold down Cmd and Shift and then press R on your keyboard.
If you’re still experiencing this issue after doing a hard refresh, can you link me to an encounter with an annotation that won’t let you delete it so I can take a closer look?
Hi Anastasia,
Following on from this topic, I’m still having issues deleting encounters. This time I am trying to delete repeated encounters of the same individual within a sightings, one-by-one. I have filtered by sighting ID and then trying to clean up there. But after deleting and hard refreshing, the deleted encounters are still showing in the sightings list and in the individual’s library of images. This is following bulk import of images.
Many thanks,
Gemma
Hi @gveneruso
Can you link to some of the encounters you’re having trouble deleting so I can look into this for you?
Hi Anastasia,
I’m getting an error sending when I share a URL to the sighting.
In any case, I’m sorry but I’ve just realised that the problem is I have to removed the individual ID from the encounter first and then delete the encounter. It’s a bit clunky but it works in the end!
Apologies! And thanks!
Gemma
I’m sorry about that; I fixed the issue in the forum that was too restrictive with link sharing.
I’m glad you got it worked out! Flukebook should display a message letting you know that you have to remove an ID from an encounter before it will let you delete it. If that warning didn’t display, let me know so I can look into it.
