Hi there
This encounter had two annotations which were the same, so I removed the annotation and it deleted both encounters.
It was uploaded by a member of public on 20-Dec-2024, in relation to a sighting at Bushrangers Bay, Shellharbour, on 15-Dec-2024.
In the search results the encounter was listed as “1df30872-fded-4665-972e-c6…”
I dont suppose there is any way to retrieve it?
Hi @Sarah_Aus_SpotaShark
I suspect that this was a cloned encounter. I couldn’t find the partial encounter ID in list of submission emails. Only the original encounter would have generated an email to the submitter, which would explain why I can’t find external reference of it. It’s similar with known behavior of deleting an annotation also deleting the photo it’s been removed from when the image exists on a different encounter: Matching Process — Wildbook documentation. However, that’s only supposed to remove the photo from the encounter, not delete it entirely.
That said, there’s an open ticket to fix the restore a deleted encounter feature but we don’t have a timeline for it yet: restore deleted encounter · Issue #246 · WildMeOrg/Wildbook · GitHub
