Strange system-generated notes in Sighting comments - how to delete? Prevent from populating this stuff here?

What Wildbook are you working in? ACW

What is the entire URL out of the browser, exactly where the error occurred?
https://africancarnivore.wildbook.org/occurrence.jsp?number=Census_08-09_2.CHEETAH_Original_4_MikevanTil

Can you describe what the issue is you’re experiencing?
I’m seeing a bunch of what appears to be system-generated notes in the Comments field at the bottom of the Sightings page.

I don’t think it should be there so I have 2 requests:

  1. Is there a way to find out which sightings have this and do a mass delete?
  2. How can we prevent this from happening going forward?

Thanks!
Maureen

Hello,

This looks to be the product of a script run a while back to correct some encounters and sightings that were not correctly associated.

I’ve looked in the codebase and it can only be manually run, so it will not happen moving forward. However these comments are part of the Audit Trail which is intended to keep a permanent record of changes to something in the database and cannot be edited.

I will make a change to the script to ensure that if it is run again no persisting lines are added to the Audit Log.

Thanks.

Hi, @ACWadmin1 !
@colin informed me that this script has been changed such that this will not happen in the future. Do you happen to have confirmation that this is the case?
Many thanks,
Mark
