Can you describe what the issue is you’re experiencing?
A bulk import was done but one image did not go through for this encounter ( ac3b9175). This encounter was matched against an ID (Rietspruit_LF0002) and was matched by “Unknown”. Normally, each match is done either by me or my assistant so I don’t understand how an encounter without an image was match by neither me or my assistant. The audit trail in the metadata is also empty.
Besides, this individual (Rietspruit_LF0002) was merged with another individual (Rietspruit_LF0006) although neither me or my assistant approved the merge (as they are two different individuals). In the audit trail/research comments at the bottom of the individuals, there is no mention of a merge.
Is it possible to have this merge reversed? How did this happen? Are you able to track down all the steps that led to this so we know where it comes from.
The fact that the encounter was IDed by unknown and then we had this merge, probably shows that the issues are linked.
Thank you for your help!
If this is a bulk import report, send the spreadsheet to services@wildme.org with the email subject line matching your bug report
Matched by Unknown is the default status for new encounter uploads. It sounds like this encounter of Rietspruit_LF0002 may have been uploaded with the ID included, especially since there’s nothing in the audit trail to imply the ID was assigned after it was imported. Can you send your spreadsheet so I can take a look? services@wildme.org
I checked the audit trail on the individual page to see where the merge from Rietspruit_LF0006 occurred and it shows it was done April 30, 2025 by jharris (your assistant?).
To unmerge them, you can follow the guidance under How do I unmerge two animals? in our Merging FAQ.
