Very slow Spot A Shark Uploads

In which Wildbook did the issue occur? Spot A Shark USA

What operating system were you using? (eg. MacOS 10.15.3)

What web browser were you using? (eg. Chrome 79) Firefox

What is your role on the site? (admin, researcher, etc) Admin

What happened? I am uploading images into SAS. This usually happens in a few seconds. It is taking a really long time (minutes) for the uploads to go through. I will also check to see if the buildings wi-fi is acting up. But I wanted to see if there is something on your side that can be reset as well?

What did you expect to happen?

What are some steps we could take to reproduce the issue?

If this is a bulk import report, send the spreadsheet to services@wildme.org with the email subject line matching your bug report

I’m seeing the same thing, too. Let me see what I can find out.

We’re restarting Spot-a-Shark. I’ll do another test upload when it’s back up to see if that helped.

Edit: It looks like uploads are still slow after the restart. I’ve shared this with the team. I’ll let you know when I hear an update.

Uploads should be nice and fast like before now. Thanks for your patience!

It sounds like we just needed to deconfigure its use of WBIA since it doesn’t use WBIA anyway. The lag occurred because it was waiting a time-out period.

much faster now! thank you!
