Wrong other values (our mistake !)

Hi @Anastasia

We made a mistake and now this individual has got “other values” names that are from other individuals (oops)

How can we delete all the “other values”, please ?

Thanks for your help

Hi @Lucas

The Other values field is not editable. Its purpose is to capture the history of any ID changes for data reconciliation.

You may want to add a note in the Researcher comments (Text or HTML) section at the very bottom of the marked individual page to clarify which previous IDs were documented in error.

Hi @Anastasia,

Thanks for your answer. Damn, I did thought we couldn’t edit this field.

Can you reset it for this individual with your admin rights ?

Having a confusion of identity between two individuals is a dreaded event, identifying individuals being the primary goal of the software.

No, it’s not editable by anyone for the reasons I mentioned.

Using your screenshot as an example, it’s pretty clear that the default ID and nicknames are the more prominent (and editable) IDs that serve as the primary form of identification.

Adding a note in the Researcher comments field will help to clarify any confusion someone may have about its naming history.

Got it !

It can’t stay like this, but I’ll find a workaround

(In this case, manually de-identify the thirty encounters and then re-identify them to recreate the individual from scratch will do the job, I think).

Thanks, I’ll work this out

A bit long, but it works
