Hello Community members!

We want to give you ample notice of a planned server outage on 2024-02-27T17:30:00Z2024-02-28T05:30:00Z. We’re moving our servers to a new location and that means that detection and ID will be unavailable on the following sites for the duration of the outage:

  • Amphibian Reptile Wildbook
  • Deerspotter
  • Flukebook
  • GiraffeSpotter
  • Grouper Spotter
  • Internet of Turtles
  • MantaMatcher
  • Seadragon Search
  • Seal Codex
  • Sharkbook
  • Snail Codex
  • Spot-a-Shark USA
  • Spotting Giant Sea Bass
  • Whiskerbook
  • Wildbook for Iberian Lynx
  • Wild North Wildbook
  • Zebra Codex

African Carnivore Wildbook is the only site that will will not be affected by the outage.

Bumping this as a reminder that the planned outage begins tomorrow. If Wildbook/Codex isn’t working for you during this time, this will likely be why.

Good morning! The servers have been moved, but three WBIA instances are in the process of being rebuilt (don’t worry; this doesn’t affect anybody’s data):

  • Whiskerbook - Detection jobs should work, but ID jobs will fail until the rebuild is complete. Those jobs will automatically resume when complete. (@ACWadmin1, @PaulK) Progress is currently at 33%
  • MantaMatcher - Detection jobs should work, but ID jobs will fail until the rebuild is complete. Those jobs will automatically resume when complete. Progress is currently at 20%
  • Snail Codex - Rebuild efforts are being prepared and not yet started.

Good afternoon! Here’s an update on the WBIA rebuild:

  • Whiskerbook - All images have synched and annotation synch is underway. This should complete in the next 12-24 hours.
  • MantaMatcher - Approximately 50% of images have synched. Annotation synch will follow.
  • Snail Codex - Additional preparation time is needed before we can start.
